Childhood friends Thom and Martin founded The Loft in Melville in 2006 and The Attic in Parkhurst in 2008 — both of which they have subsequently sold. The hugely popular bar The Office in Greenside is another of their projects, established in 2010. They opened The Griffin gastropub in Illovo at the beginning of 2012, one of the first craft beer spots in Johannesburg. The success of this project has inspired their latest venture.
