Sherwyn Weaich 3.14

“My love for cooking began when I stood on my tip toes staring over the counter watching my mother and grandmother cook for my family.” –Sherwyn Weaich

Having the passion to feed people good food, Sherwyn began his journey travelling across South Africa learning new cooking techniques and experiences new flavours.

In 2010 he worked in the Presidential Suite for the FIFA World Cup with guests such as The Royal Monarchy of Spain, Matthew Booth as well as many actors and local television stars.

Later he realised food goes well with a few drinks and attended The College of Whisky in 2011 and was trained under Rynard Van Der Westhuizen.

He has been involved with several invitation only events and placed fourth in the General Mills Pillsbury Competition.

A thirst for more knowledge Sherwyn then entered Masterchef South Africa in 2012 and made it to the semi-finals having successfully baked a bacon and egg soufflé on a gas Weber Braai. His journey on the show ended but his personal journey had just begun.

Sherwyn has now travelled across Europe and Southern Africa cooking alongside local and international chefs, creating experiences through food.

He runs his own successful company and offers live cooking demonstrations and classes. Lastly he was involved in the latest Season of Ultimate Braai Master Season 3 where his journey continues.
