Details

GES Africa Conservation Fund (GACF) is a non-profit entity dedicated to protecting and preserving both South Africa’s and the world’s most endangered species. GACF was established as a direct response to international wildlife exploitation and poaching.

Organized crime within the wildlife arena is crippling the animal populations as well as severely changing the face of conservation. The Africa Rhino poaching epidemic over the last nine years is a typical example of how these criminals are depleting precious wildlife resources.

Conservation as a whole is not managed by one entity. Thus such deployment of resources is critical in the execution of effective environmental Asset Protection preventing the depletion of wildlife resources.

GACF intends to provide financial aid to conservation driven operations to both enhance and support the various law-enforcement functions that ultimately protect the species under threat. GACF will assist in the deployment of adequate and specialised resources to affected areas in Africa.

Using intelligent solutions and innovative technological solutions GACF is enabled to support Rhino anti-poaching efforts in both private game reserves and National Parks. GACF’s on the ground experience, coupled with its tried and tested equipment provides a deeper understanding and scientific insight into reserve monitoring and effective reserve management.

Based in South Africa, GACF offers an enhanced Training and Educational Facility specialising in equipping individuals with first-hand experience and knowledge of security development activities around wildlife. The aim is to generate employment opportunities both locally and nationally by providing livelihoods that continually support GACF environmental objectives.

GACF’s uniquely designed systems sustain natural habitats and free roaming National Parks ideals, transcending reserve boundaries and cultures whilst directly impacting poachers and other threats including land encroachment.

Sharing the same goal as other conservation NGO’s and Rhino anti-poaching initiatives has been key to forming successful alliances and partnerships such as the partnership with Shambala Reserve, the Welgevonden Reserve, the Buffalo Dream Ranch (BDR), and many others private and governmental agencies. What has followed is a strong interest in GACF’s capabilities, which has elevated GACF’s profile within the conservation arena.

GACF plan to raise additional funds to provide advanced ranger training, deploy aviation resources, technology, and implement centralized control rooms.
