The GAW Cricket Academy was established in 2012 by Gert de Beer and Alex van der Merwe, two passionate cricketers with the skills and abilities to coach and motivate players individually as well as teams. These two Coaches are committed to identify each player’s potential and enhance and improve their skills with utmost dedication towards becoming the best they can. All players are treated equal and afforded the best opportunities offered. GAW is the acronym for “GOD at WORK”, signifying the importance of developing the God-given talents of the very young, promoting a passion for cricket and perhaps even reaching the goal of representing the country as Proteas player.
